Community Connection
The Soccer Academy classes from the 2009/2010 school year took part their first community connection partnership. The idea behind the community connection program has 3 parts to it. We want the soccer academy players actively involved in the community so they become exposed to some potential new experiences, and give back to the community from which they came. We also like the athletes to spread the message on all the innovative things they are learning at Catholic Central High School. The athletes had some new experiences during our partnership and had a great time working with people in the community.
St. Martha’s Elementary School Visits the CCH Soccer Academy
The Soccer Academy students had the opportunity to not only learn about physical development and skills of 5 and 6 year olds, but they were able to build a personal practice plan for students of this age. The athletes then combined into small groups and created a group plan which they practiced before they met their kindergarten students from St. Martha’s Elementary School. The Soccer Academy students not only delivered fun, organized, and engaging practices for these kindergarten students, they also participate, demonstrating wonderful leadership and teamwork. The academy students did an excellent job and the Elementary students had lots of fun.
